Needed: experienced Ruby on Rails + React.js developer for ongoing development of SaaS product in the PR and media industry
Our startup's SaaS product, a communications platform for PR and marketing opportunities, has early traction with steady growth and paying users. We need a senior developer to join a small team to enhance current features and build new ones. It's Ruby on Rails with mostly ERB templates, but more React every day.
Bonus skills: Heroku, CircleCI, Rails engines, Pundit, Devise, Stripe, Algolia, and UI/UX design.
If you're the ideal match, you'll be independent and driven. You'll excel at taking on high-level assignments, often with only roughly-outlined requirements. You'll understand problems, find the most efficient solutions, and go for it. We help each other as a team when necessary, but we aim for a high independence level.
You'll be successful if:
* You deliver high quality, working code. You don't submit tasks that require another developer to step in and finish your work.
* You clean up after yourself. If you develop v2 of something, you refactor and delete v1.
* You creatively and iteratively build features that can be combined to solve larger problems.
* You communicate clearly and can take on a conceptual feature idea, doing the necessary research to bring it to life.
While we seek a skilled, reliable, quality-conscious developer, we're not one of those startups looking for "code ninjas." We are mere mortals who value writing code to achieve business results. Most importantly, we have humor. This role is an excellent opportunity to get involved with a growing startup and tackle interesting problems.
If you are independent, driven, and think this is the perfect role, we can't wait to meet you!
You will be asked to answer the following questions when submitting a proposal:
What do you consider the most crucial measure of success for a client project like this?
What full project or major feature are you most proud of having developed?
We'll get many proposals for this job, so here's your chance to stand out: In two sentences or less, why are you the ideal candidate?
