I need you to write a report for something. My father recieved an Safety recall notification from Chrysler for his 2009 Dodge Ram for an recall on an rear axle pinion nut for looseness and replace pinion nut retainer ring. The noticed stated, “The rear axle pinion nut on your vehicle may loosen due to undersized pinion shaft splines. A loose pinion nut could cause the rear axle to seize or cause the driveshaft to separate resulting in a loss of motive power. Either situation could cause a crash without warning.” He took his truck to the dealer to have it fixed because he was hearing an clacking noise. The dealer didn’t repair the vehicle and allowed my father to leave. But told my father they had fixed it. A couple years later while he was driving down the highway the rear axle seized up and the driveshaft separated causing him o hit the steering wheel and disabling the vehicle. When he contacted the Chrysler company they told him he would have to pay to have the vehicle towed to their shop and they will see if they was the cause of incident. I would like an aggressive and demanding letter describing the situation to send to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Ave., S.E., Washington, DC 20590, Arkansas Better Business Bureau and The Chrysler Corporation.
