**Django and SPA developer with DevOps for Web Application** -- 2

We are looking for an experienced front-end or full-stack developer for a Single Page Web Application. The web application is intended to help scientists record/document their daily tasks. We welcome applications for full stack development, as well as front-end (Angular) or back-end (Django) only. The full-stack developer position requires solid knowledge of Angular, Django and REST API development. Experience in DevOps is required for AWS integration. The front-end position requires the above, minus backend components. Familiarity with Fuse in Angular is a major plus for the front-end position. We are looking for a long-term partnership to maintain and support the system and for additional feature builds in the future. The front end has been professionally designed and is available on Zeplin (which gives the exact CSS settings), meaning no guess-work on front-end output. This project is currently in the early stages, so there’s little/no legacy code to slow you down. Skill Set Summary Django, Angular, AWS (EC2, S3, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Aurora, Lambda, Route53), Devops, Databases (MySQL, AWS RDS). Development and deployment. **Front-end development tasks** The front-end development task is to use the FUSE Angular Admin theme, and customize is according to our webapp’s design. Color scheme and appearance of each page is customized to match the professional designs laid out in Zeplin. In addition to Zeplin, detailed wireframes of each of the UI’s pages/components are available to clarify functionality. The front-end design should be fully-responsive (The FUSE template is designed responsively, the developer would only need to ensure that the responsive design is maintained throughout customization and development) The final front-end should work across the major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox). The FUSE template is designed to support all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), so the developer would only need to ensure that that functionality remains intact. Front-end developers will need to work with a back-end developer to debug components required for deployment. **Back-end development tasks** The following is only required of a full stack developer. It does not apply to front-end-only applicants. The primary backend functionality is in Django and fully hosted on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS). Knowledge of Angular/Django best practices are required. Knowledge of optimization or best practices in AWS (ex. Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, RDS, etc.) is a huge plus. The AWS component will also require creating the database infrastructure (mySQL) for new web app functionalities. (The senior developer will be available to assist with this aspect.) **General requirements:** - General best-practices for Angular/Django development are expected. That is, code that is clean, well-documented, modular, and follow best practices for organized Angular projects. The Angular project must be readable and understandable by 3rd parties. - English fluency is required. - Clarifying questions are always welcome! We maintain high-availability to assist and answer questions. - Communicating technical roadblocks as encounter & clarifying business logic, as needed, is essential. - Front-end applicants: If there are backend and/or data base issues that are impeding frontend progress, the front end developer should apprise us of these roadblocks and provide reasonable solutions to resolve the issue. - We are looking for a long-term partnership to maintain and support the system and additional feature builds in the future. - Highest security standards are essential because of the nature of the data that is being managed (cancer research data).
