Description of the work: Coding enviroment: Python dead line: by monday Aug 3rd - receive 3 sets of JPEG pictures - each set is 20 to 40 pictures strong. - Each Image belong to a set of images that, in aggregate, represents slices of a three dimentional larger structure - format = Jpeg - Set 1 = set of picture (slices) taken from view point (= "camera) placed along "X" axis - Set 2 = along "Y" axis - Set 3 = along "z"axis - Each picture represents a map, eqiuvalent to a geography map, with 1 color for each region that corresponds to a slice of a greater 3D structure. - Each picture has a particular "elevation" , with respect to its axis - Extract automatically the XY and Z coordinate corresponding to the various sought-after regions (and, by extension: volumes) for each picture - a simple method will be presented as example for automated data extraction from pre-segmented pictures - Proceed with alignment of at least two sets of XYZ points - SAG and AXIAL - use fiduciary markers visible in all three sets to reconcile separate clouds of point - additional third set is a plus - alignment can be semi-manual at first: ex: visualize two sets of cloud of points ex: use keys from keyboard to incrementally rotate and translate one set until fiduciary markers match "within" reason" - Ideally: automatic calculation of rotation and translation matrix between cloud of points using center of weight of individual fiduciary cluster points is Huge Bonus ex: selection of "corresponding" fiduciary marker can be done via GUI and drawing rectangle ONCE rotation and translation is complete - Output XYZ array as CSV file - format (recommended) = KEYWORD , X,Y,Z, Set# , mode - KEYWORD = [ will be provided ] - Set # = 1,2,3 - mode = [ will be provided ] - use preselected fiduciary marker ball center at 0,0,0 - use preselected 3 balls to set up the ground plane - info will be provided prior to start the job - Surface reconstruction is bonus: - demonstrate surface reconstruction using several algorithms - export at STL or PLY file
