Must be able to work close or within Australian timezone business hours.
Developer is responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including installation of themes and plugins. Requires a basic understanding of skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). A strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems is necessary. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is essential. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
Responsibilities
• Designing and implementing new features and functionality
• Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
• Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
Skills and Qualifications
• Wordpress admin & theme customising / web development experience is absolute
• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience building user interfaces / mockups / wire-frames for websites and/or web applications
• Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
• Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
• Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
• Good understanding of PHP back-end development
• Familiarisation with any frameworks (bootstrap), libraries, or any other relevant technology
** Provider must have reliable internet connection, good communication skills and show attention to detail and initiative.
PROJECT BRIEF
• Upgrade a WordPress web site design for multiple user devices and browsers, backup if necessary
• Update plugins, test on view ports
• Customise inside page layouts theme
• Titles, keyword phrases and descriptions will be optimised for search engines (SEO).
• Content (existing web pages) and images prepared and ready for copy/paste and drag/drop.
• Create a news release page / section
• Update footer links
• Produce documentation for editor role
