I have a membership WordPress Website which acts as a front-end to a large number of YouTube videos. The user logs in and has access to the YouTube videos which are embedded into the site. I use the plugin Apptha Video Gallery.
The website does not host the videos directly but it is image heavy as each video has a thumbnail image which the user clicks on to access the image. I have been using the plugin Smush to compress the images but I have no doubt that the images are not properly optimised.
The website is hosted on GoDaddy.
There are about 600 members.
Recently the website has started to run very slowly. The resources tab at GoDaddy does not show that the hosting resources are over-used or near maximum. The user experiences a slow website, but the response inside Admin area is even worse.
Most worryingly I have now found that I cannot add new videos to Video Gallery or even Add New pages. When trying to Add a New Page Admin tells me that I'm not allowed to edit this post.
I need a WordPress expert please to look at the site, analyse why it is running so slow, and why I cannot add new pages or videos. We can then discuss a project to fix and optimise the site based on the findings.
