Hi there, I am quite new in freelancer site, But I am a very experienced programmer. I did a lot of excel file import/export with Mysql database on the PHP platform. File extension .xls are considered Microsoft Excel 5 format. I normally employ the third-party Php-excel library with plenty of pre-defined function. This is a very commonly use php library. I assume the original programmer are using this library tool to import data to your Mysql database. I can also use other tool once I study your source code.
