Hi there,
I can help you build a website similar with EventBrite, but of course not at that scale (it would take millions, not thousands, right?:d). I've worked in the US startup environment, building 2 large scale products for a company in California. We made the mistake of going big and it was not really wise. My suggestion is to start small, not aiming to build a product like EventBrite, but building something that fulfils the needs of your audience, the minimum needs. Start small and build a quality product and let your clients dictate the rythm and course of the devleopment.
As I said, I can help you building this from scratch. I have front-end, back-end and server administration skills and I'll be able to handle this from A to Z, until it starts growing and needs to be scaled, which would require more workforce.
The technology stack I suggest is HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Bootstrap for the fron-end and PHP, MySQL and Symfony3 for the back-end, all ran on a Linux environment with nginx, php-fpm, varnish and opcache.
Please lookup my profile and if you think we can work together, reach out and we'll talk more specifications for an initial phase of development.
Thanks much,
Cosmin
