I need to have an ISAPI filter that will run in IIS 5 and above. The filter will be able to do on-the-fly decompression of PDF files to G4 tiff files. My idea is that the filter will do the following:
- Intercept a WebDAV http request (see [[login to view URL]][1]) for a file.
- Redirect the request to a dll that will activate an image converter [_[login to view URL]][2].
- Return a G4 tiff to the WebDAV client.
For instance, the workstation would map a WebDAV client to drive X. (This would utilize the WebDAV client built into MSIE 5 and above). An application would then request a file called X:\IMAGES\VOL01\001\SOMEFILE.TIF. The ISAPI filter would change this request to something like <http://servername/convert/[login to view URL]|VOL01|001|[login to view URL]>. The request would locate the file in the virtual directory, activate the conversion routine, and the filter would return the tiff to the client.
For this project, I need to receive the source code along with the compiled deliverable. I am open to reasonable suggestions regarding the way I think this should be executed. However, I am pretty much limited to IIS and the WebDAV client that comes with MSIE.
The code should be written in a way that it can be adapted to verify a license dongle in the future.
