I will be selling consumer information reports as electronic files from an internet website. **_I want the end user to be able to view the purchased file/s on not more than three particular PCs_** (for example one desk top, a lap top and one more pc). Obviously, I don't want my reports being distributed for free. I don't want the end user to have to be online to view my reports. These reports will run anywhere from 5 pages to 300 pages each of text and images and run from 300 KB to 20 meg in size.
I have composed the text in Microsoft Word and converted to PDF using Adobe Acrobat. The reports include a number of scanned images in PDF format. With Acrobat I can eliminate the end user from cut and pasting and printing, but there is no way to stop the end user from copying my report files and distributing them for free. (I'm not really concerned about the copywrite security since my reports are very unique and easy to identify). I would also like to disable the screen print option for my reports.
An end user may purchase anywhere from one to multiple files. I'm not sure of the activation software should be part of each file as a "wrap around file" or a separate stand alone program? I'm open to your suggestions.
