Hello, I'm looking for a simple flash media/fcs server chat example I could learn from without using the simpleconnect, peoplelist, or any other components (so I can use my own listboxes, etc) this should have the normal lobby and chatroom setup. I'm not sure how a shared object works (I don't know if it's a variable or array or both..) but the userlist should hold information about the user: the username, gender, age, and if they are on webcam. Most importantly this example app needs user to user messaging and everything should be handled through client side functions (I don't know much about server side actionscript) and I'm not sure how messages are sent (is it just a shared object that acts as a string?) it should have these functions receivemsg(fromuser, msg) - when receive message sendmsg(touser, msg) - to send message joinedroom(username_joined,gender,age,etc) to populate listbox notifywebcam(username,on|off) - sends to all users in room when someone turns on/off the webcam (maybe flash does this automatically?) I'm not familiar with server side actionscript so if flash does some of these automatically let me know as this is mostly for learning purposes. Please use comments to explain the functions as much as possible
