We are redesigning the existing site <[login to view URL]> and converting it on osCommerce. The design phase is almost completed; you can see the most recent draft at <[login to view URL]>
What we will provide:
1. an updated version of the design referred to above, as Adobe and HTML files
2. hosting
What we need you to do:
1. implement the given design as an osCommerce template
2. add content pages for the non-'ecommerce' parts of the site (such as <[login to view URL]> and <[login to view URL]>) which can be edited from within osCommerce using the embeddable rich editors
3. modify certain elements of osCommerce so that it does not charge $, but allows users to ask for info about the things in their cart; this is NOT as hard as it might sound:
Basically, the consumer will not actually purchase anything, he'll add things to his cart (which will be relabelled "quote bin" or similar), enter contact info, and click a "request information" button; this will send an email to the site admin, who will review the cart and contact the user manually. I see two easy ways to do this:
a) modify the checkout so that the payment segment is skipped (perhaps by relabeling 'pay by check' to 'request info')
b) OR use the wishlist 3.x mod for osCommerce
As you can see, we don't plan on using the ecommerce portions of osCommerce per se, but we do want to use it as a core for the site so that we can add items with images/description/quantity for each, categorize them, etc.
Thanks for you bids...we look forward to reviewing them!
Preference will be given to developers on the West coast, USA.
