This is a small project for setting up a stock trading competition game by customizing a few modules on DotNetNuke. I am setting this up for a school club. I would prefer this to be build on DotNetNuke a Open Source portal software written in VB.NET because I have a website build with it already. So making this would be rather simple b/c you are building on a DotNetNuke which have all the infrastructure code setup already. If you can do it without DotNetNuke and do it quickly, you can bid as well. Of course this would require a database as well. SQL Server would be needed. If feel you can do it better PHP MySQL, be my guest and bid for it if you have a good idea. What I like is someone to code a virtual stock investment competition. It should allow people to 1. sign up and setup a simple profile (name, location, username, preferences, education, personal quotes and so forth 2. establish a virtual stock portfolio 3. allow players to long and short stocks 4. show the top 10 leaders and losers 5. have monthly, 6-monthly, and yearly competition. The source of the stock data would be from the popular financial sites like [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] ... etc, you can pick a free source if you prefer. its relatively simple and straight forward. I am looking for someone who are familiar with stocks and prefer one who had work with DotNetNuke in VB.net. Anyone who have developed this kind of similiar game before is a plus Pleae let me know. DotNetNuke is a free open source "portal software" written in VB.NET You can get the source here: [url removed, login to view] There are plenty of sample codes out there to do this, but I like someone to work on some customization so it would look familiar to the players.
