Modify/Create Objective-C image picker to provide metadata (eg lat/long) to Appcelerator Titanium App

We are looking for someone to undertake some work in Objective-C.

We currently have an iOS app built using Appcelerator Titanium.

The standard image picker provided by titanium does not return the metadata of the selected image. This metadata is required by our app.

The metadata that we need is latitude, longitude and date/time that the original image was taken.

The solution must work on all iPad and iPhone models running iOS 9.3 - Current and must work with Appcelerator v6.3 - current v7.1.1.

There are two ways that this could be achieved:

OPTION 1:

Create/modify an objective-c module to extend Titanium (this is the preferred method if achievable).

Here is an example of a module that was developed to do this exact function, bit is now deprecated as it uses deprecated APIs in the iOS SDK.

It may be possible to update this existing module to use new APIs.

OPTION 2:

Modify the MediaModule.m file of the titanium SDK.

The SDK is open source and can be found here:

The SDK returns a dictionary that contains a blob of the selected image.

The new code should be placed at around line 2030 of the MediaModule.m file.
