User Experience upgrade - Application GUI redesign

This project is assisting a managment consulting firm redesign an application GUI for thier client. The key activities are 1) Skectching, 2) Storyboarding and 3) HTML development / slicing. The project is estimated to take 13 weeks starting immediately. There are two roles needed here, design and development. The design role would be needed from weeks 4 - 8 and the development role from weeks 8 -12. We estimate 2 persons for the development role(s). There would be some overlap and additional time required for meetings and involvement with the analysis from weeks 1 - 4. The client currently has over 1000 people using a current version of a custom built .NET (ASP) application. The usability of the application has not change significantly in the last 6 years. The are areas of redesign that apply : Overall look and feel, iconography, navigation, use of the text editor, report layouts, screen transition, font, menu structures, colour and theme etc. The designer would need to have some experience in translating business requirements to GUI mock ups. The developer will need the skills of turning the mockups in to sliced HTML. The end deliverables are a combination of the mock ups and supporting documentation for web guidelines for the implementation team, who will be working in a .NET framework. The mockups would need to demonstrate a storyboard or navigation path for 6 main user 'experiences' or 'processes'. We estimate that this would be 12- 20 pages. This would be representative of the full complement of 300 pages currently published and would be the template for the implementation. Both roles must be familiar with working within the constraints of the web guidelines that are typically corporate and there must be a focus on the feasibility of implementation (to be carried out by the client themselves). This is a exciting project, bringing best practice GUI design to a client where there will be a beneficial impact to more 1000 people who can perform their job with greater ease, satisfaction and efficiency as a result of a well designed interface. All roles are full time for the periods mentioned. Standard rates apply, are based on a 35-40 hr week and will be on a time and materials basis. You would be needed on site with the consulting team for 60 -80% of the time. Experience in defining / working with web standards is a plus.
