Designing and Implementing a Data Warehouse Consider any shopping center (super market, spare part shop, car rental office, Pharmacy Company ...) and design an application that will manage its data. The objective of this project is to design and implement a Mini Data Warehouse that would accept data from different sources with different formats and technologies. The database of this system must be designed and implemented using a DBMS like Oracle, SQL Server or MS Access. The user interface of this system must be done using a database application environment (Visual Basic, VB.NET, ASP.NET ...). Task1: Database Design and Implementation This task aims at designing and implementing a database for a shopping center. This task includes the following:  ER diagram showing entities, attributes and relationships  ER Mapping showing constraints and intersection tables  Data Dictionary showing datatypes and their sizes  Database schema after implementation Task2: Forms Once you have created your database, you must create a database application under a database application environment (Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET ...) of your choice to communicate with the Database created above. You have to create at least four modules for implementing the CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete) operations. The database application must be connected to the database already created, and must contain a main form that contain buttons and menus that will allow navigating to other secondary forms. Your system must be able to do the following:  Entering data for any table in the database.  Modifying data for any record in any table.  Deleting records from any table.  Retrieving data from one or more tables. For example: a user must be able to enter the names, the types and the quantities of products/items if there is any supply. Also, the user must be able to know how many items are left in the store. Task3: Reports Create a variety of Reports and relate them to the main form of the application. This task includes the following:  Daily Report  Weekly Report  Monthly Report  Yearly Report  List of Products by type, by date of delivery, by quantity ... Each report must include:  The number of items available in the shop  The number of items sold/bought in that period (Day, Week, Month, ...)  The total gain obtained by one or more products/items.  The increase/decrease percentage of sales by comparison with the last period.
