Hello,
I looked at your website, and I am very interested in your project for very personal reasons. Three years ago I went in for knee surgery and woke up a month later from a coma unable to move anything from the neck down. I spent four months in the hospital and nursing home before dismissing myself to come home to my six-year-old son.
I have made progress, and although I still do not walk, I can use my limbs now. I live alone in my own apartment with my now nine-year-old. If I had not gone back to school before my divorce in 2013, there is no way I could support myself and my son now.
I have since got out of the hospital, and nursing home wrote several books and copywritten hundreds of projects for clients.
While in college I was asked to help write two grants for the English department. I had previously written a funded grant for our church food pantry. I wrote several grants for Casa a non-profit for abused children of which some were funded. As a graduate student, I wrote a grant for a school district to get funding for a writing center for their high-school students. Recently I helped a client write two hospital grants and a grant for an orphanage in Haiti.
I believe I could be an asset to your organization. While I cannot afford to work for free because of my situation, I am willing to work with you on the terms you set to help you help students such as myself.
Thank you,
Rebecca
