The Adventures of Percy the Siberian Cat: Welcome Home is a charming tale about the love a child feels for her first pet. Caring for an animal can be fun but a big responsibility, especially as Percy grows from a huggable kitten to an independent, adventure seeking cat with a mind of his own. After Heidi brings him home, Percy thinks he owns the place, climbing on tables and televisions and hiding on top of the refrigerator. Soon he escapes and begins exploring nature. The relatable story also teaches children about the mission of rescue animals.
In the first book of the series, young readers are introduced to some of the unique flowers and animals in sunny Florida, including the budding hibiscus, majestic sandhill cranes and a thorny armadillo. This sweet book will resonate with everyone, young and old, who has ever bonded with a furry friend while motivating young learners to become lifelong readers.
