Background
We are conducting a research project on online work in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. The project aims to improve our understanding of the Internet's impacts on social and economic development. The results will help policy makers, firms and individuals dealing with technological change. More information on the project is available at [login to view URL]
What we ask from you
If you live in Sub-Saharan Africa or Southeast Asia and have done work through Freelancer or a similar platform, we would like you to respond to our online survey. The questions asked in the survey focus on your experiences of online work and your everyday life and background. The survey takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. We will pay you $3 for completing the survey (please log exactly one hour of manual time so that we can pay you this amount). Please respond to the questions as accurately as you can.
How we use the information you give us
We will analyse the information you and other respondents give to us, and report our conclusions in academic publications, presentations and blog posts. Your responses are not linked to your name or Freelancer account, and we will not reveal your identity to anyone outside the research group. Any personal information you give to us will be kept confidential and held securely in accordance with the 1998 UK Data Protection Act.
Who is behind this project
