I have a project in which I need an AR Beer Pong application built for an Expo/React Native app.
The idea is to simulate beer pong in AR since it is a quintessential college game and the student experience is being disrupted by COVID. The idea is to make a live, two-player, fast-paced beer pong game that leverages the AR modality to make it feel like the player is actually playing with someone over an AR table. I would like a tap-to-hold and flick phone motion to simulate throwing the ball. I would like good physics, realistic cup sounds, crowd cheers and applause noises, and a great onboarding/tutorial experience that explains the controls. Happy to dive into detail further if this sounds interesting as I am also a software developer.
I currently have an Expo/React Native app and I need to add 2 games to the app. I am wondering if Unity is a better choice or if I should go with Viro Media but I am curious to know how it will perform without at least using a Unity view.
I would love to get your opinion on the technology used and if this is a good fit for your skillset, I would love to work with you to design and build this game using Unity or Viro Media for Expo mobile app and use AWS Gamelift.
