I run a startup that specialises in SIm Racing equipment ([login to view URL])
We are currently working on developing a new steering wheel and are looking into implementing a telemetry screen.
This screen should be based on the VOCORE screen [login to view URL]
This screen then uses Simhub [login to view URL] to display the telemetry data via UDP.
However, we want this screen to be able to do so without having to use a PC in the loop. We want to address the Console (Playstaion and Xbox) market with this solution and therefore we are looking to make the screen a wifi capable device that allows to connect to the same wifi as the console is using and then read the UDP stream.
What is used as the IOT device is up to you, preferebly something that we can power with the same 5V that the screen is using, maybe something based on an ESP32 or something similarly cost and space effective.
The initial wifi config should ideally be configurable via AP mode and a simple webserver running on the IOT.
A secondary goal would be the configuration via the webserver to be used to configure the graphical display (what data to be displayed from the UDP stream).
Budget: I dont have a set budget for this project. It really comes down to the scope of hours you think this will take. I am open to suggestions.
