Microcontroller for smart charger - preferable PIC16

The smart charger allows a user to switch the charge process of e-bike lithium batteries off earlier: at 40% (winter storage - degradation is minimal), 60% - 70% - 80% (save lifetime and decrease driving range) and 100%. Switching off takes place based on the voltages that correspond with the 4 "save" positions. As this is not 100% accurate, the switching points are recalculated by measuring the charge energy. I have done hundreds of projects in the cross-fields of power electronics (charging - DC/DC conversion), embedded software and data communication. My long term partner retired so I am looking for a new free-lancer to take over. Proven experience will be a condition. The attached documentation explains the details. The preference for PIC is because the hardware prototype is available, but when there is a good reason to change this is acceptable.

Your project description is clear and the charging method you describe is reasonable. I have experience in building my own e-bike battery packs, and understand how the charging and balancing works. I have experience in developing for PIC16 family with C and ASM languages. To develop the software, I will need the prototype charger you have. I have my own PIC programmer and also some battery packs and electronic load device that I can use for testing. For the future extension (charged separately), I have experience also in developing Bluetooth low energy communications using BGM113 module.

Hi There Thank you for the attached document. It is very thorough. Do you need the PIC to control the charger unit, or do you want the charger unit to be designed with the PIC? I can help you with this project. I did similar work before on LiFePO4 batteries which is very similar to LiPo. I prefer using the 16Pic series. If you use them already, keep on using them. They are very stable, low energy consuming and easy to program. I done a lot of PIC programming yearly, it is my favorite processor. All my programs is written in C or assembly (I prefer C). It is written modular and I use descriptions in my programs. You can easily do all 4 stages at the same time also. To create the last two stages wouldn't take much time. Do you need the program only? Do you also need a PCB layout? Do you want a complete product? Hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Floris van der Merwe.

I have experience on a similar device. I would also like to understand what type of work you expect for the specified amount? Development of the scheme, the selection of electronic components, the trace of the printed circuit board, writing a program, debugging. What of it?
