Hello! I need an idea of how to charge a capacitor when a the voltage is in decay on a sinus voltage wave form( only the positive side). The blue part of the image. I need to conserve that energy somewhere, look at the blue side of the image. I can't do it in a capacitor. It is produced by magnet over coil. PS: Its just a bad drawing, nothing is child proof, I need an idea of how to conserver that ( blue on the image ) energy somehow(eg. condenser, battery, etc) or at least much of it. Thank you for your time! I can reward 100$, depending of the percentage of energy saved.

Hi, I am a post graduate power electronics engineer and having very good industrial experience of 8+ years in R&D and project development. I am excellent welding power supplies design, Plasma ARC power supplies, high frequency transformers design, solar grid tie transformers, electrical vehicles design, circuits design, multi-channel LED Drivers, Regulated power supplies design with universal input to DC output, Audio amplifier, drives design, Filters design for harmonic analysis and Power factor correction, SMPS, LED drivers, DC-DC, AC-DC converters design, PFC interleaved boost converter, Battery management system, Battery chargers, UPS design, sine wave Inverters, solar grid tie inverters, Solar battery chargers and street light systems design from few watts to KW range using Buck, Boost, and Buck –boost, Interleaved boost/buck, Fly back Push Pull and H-bridge inverters. I have very good experience to design high voltage power supplies up to 50KV for capacitor charging power supplies using soft switching topologies. I have work experience to design from few watts to KW range meeting all compliances like EMI/EMC and safety standards UL etc.

Hello! What is the frequency and voltage of this waveform? Is the frequency stable? Is the voltage stable? What is the situation on the red side of the waveform? Should the circuit not touch the waveform in this red side?

Hi, As I found, you want to save at one cycle sine voltage, so you should use a larger capacitor to save more energy at each cycle. Saving blue part energy doesn't mean. If you only want to get energy at blue part (for any reason), it differs but if you want to save more energy you should find a better solution. Any way I can help you if you want. Best Regards

first of all, it is really difficult to increase the capacitor charge rate with respect to decrease the applied voltage, but it is possible some way for that since maximum voltage position no current flow through the capacitor.

I have a simple idea in mind and would be glad to be of help. Idea in short is that of charging an inductor and then dumping the same on to a capacitor. I shall take up the assignment only if I am 100% convinced that I can provide an idea that works for you. I would like to get more details about the requirements: 1. What is the amplitude, DC component & frequency of the sine wave? Are these going to be variable or will they be fixed? 2. What kind of components can the design use? Any restrictions? I guess simulations to show that the idea works is not part of the task. So, what would your acceptance criteria of the assignment be? Note that without simulations, it will be difficult to prove that the idea works.

Hi. to try to give an answer to your pro`puesta, I need some data: 1- what power is available on the red side (generator) 2- Which power is consumed from the blue side (load) or is only a voltage reference, 3- what frequency has the sine wave. regards Jorge Zulliger
