Hi, We can use DS18B20 from maxim. Its only need 2 wire which is data and ground, because it use 1 wire interface. we can use waterproof version of it and use Arduino nano as processing unit. My proposal includes both hardware and software: - C++ code for ESP8266 upload temperature data to a simple nodejs backend on the cloud. It will be compiled via Arduino IDE. - PCB design in Eagle format and the gerber as well. Cost not include: making prototype nor shipment. Additional $ is required for that. Also the dimension is: 40mm x 75mm x 30mm because it will works with 2 Panasonic 18650 cells. Recommend using external charger because the integrated charging circuit will be very slow and not convenience. User just simply replaces battery. The board will use DHT22 module which provide both temperature and humidity. Pls chat if you want to ask anything. >>> Updated: 1. With 5 days on battery and interval of 6 minutes, it's possible to run on only 1 good 18650 cells. Using near-square cell is possible to fit into 50x50x30mm but need to find good cell - which is difficult. It's better to stick to Panasonic 18650. 2. If board is running with micro-USB and battery is for backup only, then on-board automatically charging is OK as no need fast charging. 3. Battery can be smaller if static IP is used instead of DHCP.

Hi, I know the physical principals of a temperature sensor working. It may be semiconductor or metal conductivity based. I and could calculate the sensor response. However, to estimate the my working time more detail are needed: what you mean by design a temperature sensor, or a small size comparing to what? So I bid $150 as a base for discussions.
