we would like to use "minio" s3 service at our Django app, sadly the developer(s) have discontinoued the project as it seems.
So we are currently searching for someone that is able to fix up this project so that it flawlessly runs on Python 3.7.x / Django 2.2.4 Stack. As we currently don't have enought ressources to implement the needed fixup and featureset we need here.
These are our requirement(s):
- Fix up this app: [login to view URL] so that it works on Python 3.7.x/Django 2.2.4 for media and static files.
- Implement a rotation mechanism (For each client response) so that multiple minio instances can be used to provide files. The idea is to balance traffic across multiple minio instances with the same data assets, to split-up the actual load. This should only be done by defining an array/list at [login to view URL] where we can set the hostname(s) of the minio instances where a random instances is picked from for each response to the client.
- Each media and also static file-url that our service provides gets "presigend". That means that django requests a one-time link trough the minio/AWS -API (Docs available at: [login to view URL]) with hashes and checksums to access the file(s), we dont work with public S3 buckets here. by default it's not possible to define how long this pre-generated link by minio is valid. Currently this is set to one day by default. We need to have 2 more variables at [login to view URL] to defines how long in seconds the link is valid for media files and how long for static files.
in practice this task should not be more than 50-70 lines of code as the current state is almost completely useable on the latest Python/Django stack, even if it is not listed as compatible with Django 2.x. Please also see the Docs for this project here: [login to view URL]
