I need a gradient based routing for PLC (Power Line Communication) which helps to choose a particular path to reach a particular end device.
This eventually reduces flooding and useful data packets can be saved from collision.
After implementation of proposed gradient based protocol for PLC, collision should be reduced , delay should be decreased and throughput should be increased.
The existing protocol in powerline communication allows only three retransmissions to reach the destination from a source and
the data packets are sent through all the links of a node.
This will cause loss of data after the third transmission, also flooding and collision will be caused when the data is sent through all the links in a larger network.
Therefore my work should solve the mentioned problem statement.
Moreover, the application of PLC is increasing and in future people could expect fast broadband interconnection via PLC, this will demand for more number of nodes.
Thus, my protocol should be such that is suitable for many nodes in a network.
The protocol discussed here allows many devices to operate in a network appropriate for PLC communication.
To verify the functionality and to measure the performance indexes of the proposed protocol, we have to modeled PLC protocol using Network Simulator 2 (NS2).
We have to measured the performance of existing and proposed protocol in NS2(Network simulator)
with increasing number of nodes up to 30 nodes and having number of end devices as 10,20,30,40,..
