Send SMS From FreePBX/Asterisk Based on Feature Code

Goal ------------------------------------------------ Tha goal of this project is to enable our operators to issue an SMS message to a potential customer linking to Google maps with instructions on how to get to our location from their current whereabouts. Background ------------------------------------------------ we got a lot of callers looking for information about directions. The address alone isn't much useful getting them to the location, simply because we live in a very rural area. We've come up with the idea to be able to send them a link to Google maps directly to the phone from the phone call itself. This way we are hoping that the other was received the link click on it, Confirm they know where they are going, and we won't have to deal with repeat calls later on as they get closer and not being able to find a spot. We use the Twilio SIP service to drive our PBX - and those same number are available on the messaging side of [login to view URL] we will be looking for is to make sure that when call or a calls employee be, and employee be respond with a message, the origin of the message (in terms of number remains intact) A few other notes: ------------------------------------------------ 1. The link is not specific to the customer. It's always the same for everyone. 2. I would rather stay away from the internals of*when dealing with this. I think if we can keep this to just executing some separate Python when we hit the feature code that would be ideal. The script would look at the caller ID combined with the direct ID of the current call, and then use Twilio's API to fire the message in. 3. Finally, This is the first of probably what will be for SMS related projects involving FreePBX. If this is something you found in your wheelhouse, please let me know. It would always be our goal to strike one relationship with one really good person versus for relationships with for mediocre people. Budget for this initial proof of concept (to see if can get messages working) is $350 USD. Thanks!
