Please read and understand before you bid.
I am investing another $5 into this. I would like to announce a COMPETITION (if anyone dares).
I will award this project to the person/group/company which is willing to provide a mock design showing their conception.
Additionally, as a bonus, you will get a few other projects within the next 2-3 weeks such as:
- designing corresponding look on MySpace,
- HTML e-newsletter,
- Designing stationery (headpaper, compliment slip, etc)
- couple of leaflets designs, which I also need to produce (we'll make some arrangement regarding these). This will be a seperate job, so do NOT include this in your bid.
NOW, you're bidding ONLY on a website design.
Please bid only when you're confident that you are able to:
- provide a mock design
- deliver A QUALITY design when selected- it needs to be everyone's envy ;)
- start IMIDIATELY
- deliver a complete website with a back-end within a week (I want to be able to test it on 7-8th day and have it uploaded on my server by the END of THIS month)
- deliver work that complies with all the latest standards, 2.0, and will be absolutely loved by google, etc..
- suggest some really good, user friendly cms, other than joomla.
I have viewd probably 1000's of websites recently and to be honest I am really tired with checking everybody's works. There's much too much of it.
Please send me a message with your a) suggestions, b) mock design and SHOW me what you can do for me.
Please do not only paste here this generic information about "how good you are and how much better than others".
You are not going to be selected only because you bid and tell me "let's start". No message, no mock, NO project! Simple
Present a bold and strong design.
I will wait for the designs until mid-day on Tuesday 24th, London time, and hopefully select my provider then.
If you feel that you can provide only design, not back-end, let me know... it will also be considered - I may get somebody else to do the back-end then.
This is other info that was posted as a project a couple of days ago... so read on!

I am looking to re-design my present, un-finished website.
I need a really good, Brochure/portfolio style website with a professional feel and "SHARP" look.
Any ideas welcome (I was even considering using some cartoon characters, so you see, I am really open to suggestions and new ideas).
I would like to get a really good, eye-catching, GREAT LOOKING home page with some good quality and "cool" features (maybe movie, etc... but not too much, NO flash (unless some small element and not header or entire site). HTML please.
The website is related to sports industry and strength and sports training and my my strength coaching services.
This would be presenting a combination of training styles, using Olympic lifting, strongman training, powerlifting and sports strength training and conditioning as well as fit sports people... and fit athlete like people, NOT necessary pretty models as you can normally see in most fitness/personal training related templates online.
Ok, this is supposed to attract people that I really like to work with (fit, strong, athletes, or ex-athletes, or people with guts wanting to do real training and do things above average), however, without unnecessary intimidation to others (but still, the site is supposed to offer some kind of pre-selection – so that I do not get old pensioners, double hip replacements and patients requiring rehabilitation after strokes contacting me).
Well, I love all these people too, however, there are other trainers and physios that like training and treating them. :)
I like strong colours, good contrasts, BLACKs, greys and shades, blacks with grey or brown (NO pink, light blues etc).
I would like you to suggest and offer your opinion re both design and functionality.
Again, it both needs to be appealing, look good, hopefully invite people to clicking and viewing other parts of site.
For the content or rather menu and what will go on given pages – please check the attachment - some changes may still happen.
I also attach my current logo and a few sample pictures - Please do not limit yourself to these few pictures only. These are just samples.
Other needs/requirements -
+ Sign-up form for a Newsletter - preferably somewhere in the top right-hand corner
A clear and rather big(-ish) icon/link (maybe flash or gif) on my home site to my other website
Social Bookmarking buttons such a (twitter, facebook, myspace and other... + feeds, etc...)
+ help with SEO and long-term BEST possible positioning on uk google
- I have got a logo and some pictures, but I still will need some help and creativity with images/pictures and your photoshop skills. And maybe help with getting some if you can suggest where.
I would like to have some form of CMS, however, I do NOT want Joomla as I find it not very friendly.
I want to be able to use it quickly, intuitively, without studying it for weeks.
I would like to be able to add further articles, pages, posts, pictures, media, etc.
Looking forward to your suggestions re cms. If you think that some custom stuff can work well, let know.
I would not like cms to excessively limit the attractiveness of the design. It does not have to be all “box and square”
I would like the site to be really wide, no less than 950 and the header stretch out across the entire screen.
It looks a lot and complicated, however, most things are just standard items on any website.
As mentioned above, initially it is going to be a brochure/portfolio website, however, it is possible that I would need to turn it into commercial, site and add a shopping cart in future (so want to have this option open).
I would prefer to work with a small team (designer and coder/programmer/developer) rather than only one person, as I do not believer one person can do everything equally well. But, if you really want to prove me wrong, go for it.
A few very important points (to me):
I need somebody who:
a) communicates well and keeps me updated and informed regularly (at the end of the day, this is supposed to be a project for me, so I want to know what is happening and have some “say” re its direction. I do not like to wait for days for “something to happen”).
b) designer – makes quick if not instant changes himself/herself having received my feedback ... and do not send it to somebody else – sorry, I do not have time for any outsourcing, it is much too slow process.
c) have guts to tell me that something is not OK and not going to work... and also suggest alternatives and solutions.
I think I will be quite demanding with regards to the design. I will consult with a group of my friends (everyone with different background and good at their stuff... so please know that poor quality is not going to cut it. I will also get a fried of mine to test the back-end.
OK, despite all the above, my budget is limited, as I am still a “one-man-band” and have had plenty other expenses in my life recently. Hence, if you bid expecting some utterly ridiculous amount of money, it is unlikely you'll get the project – we are all suffering from the economic slowdown.
Please be honest and timely... I would like a quick turnaround with a design and back-end implementation. I will work on some missing copy text at my time later on.
I would like to get started ASAP and have it completed as quickly as it is only possible (a week would be nice). Hence, bid only if you're confident you can design, create and update fast.
Please remember, you stand more chance if you offer some mock which I would like (you can put “sample” or “mock-up” on it if you like and do it in low resolution, but good enough to see your conception. You can also use/provide your images.
I need to know that above everything, you'll feel what I am trying to market.
Thank you and look forward to working with a good pro shortly.
