Enclosed is my sample database and code. Below is more details of what is needed. ## Deliverables Currently; I have code that is able to open the SQL Server Compact Edition database to display records. However; I am unable to add any new records. Keeps giving me errors saying that SQL Server Compact Edition does not support autogenerated values for an ID field. However; that can't be true because I was able to add 2 records manually. What is needed is to make whatever changes are needes so I can through code to be able to add new records. Would have preferred to use LINQ TO SQL but it appears that LINQ TO SQL does not support the SQL Server Compact Edition at all. Therefore; it has to use the entities. Must still be able to use the strongly typed classes instead of using straight [login to view URL] (where I have to do the sql statement in order to insert the record). Also; must continue using the Compact Edition (because I am working on an application that needs to be as easy to distribute as possible). The compact edition is easy to distribute. However; the Express Edition; its really hard to deploy. And must still have the ids autogenerated plus using the primary keys. I tried without the primary key but that is not allowed either. Plus; I prefer to have primary keys for all my tables. Finally; I need explanation so when I create other databases and entities; then I know exactly what I have to do so I can add records through code even if the primary key is autogenerated.
