Just how i described it today: I'm glad you're interested and can do this project. As far as the payment goes, we are willing to pay what it costs for you to do this. I will let you know in detail what I need done, and then you let me know what you think is a fair price. Overview: We would like to create a handbag image database on our website that contains every item that we have ever sold. We need it to display only one image, the title, and the description. This data is all found within a csv file that I will provide. This database should integrate seamlessly with the "mycollection" project as it should recognize its usernames and passwords. Users should be able to rate on bags in the database, and be able to add them to "myCollection." Contents: Moving the files. Right now all of the images are hosted on our 3rd party shopping cart provider's hosting. We don't plan on always being with them so we can't rely on them to host the images. One of the difficulties with their hosting, is that the images are organized in different and unpredictable folders. There are thousands of images we need and no way of easily moving them from their different folders. Therefore, we need to have you write a script that either downloads them to a computer to reupload them to our server, or if possible, directly moves them from their current location to our new server. Create the database. The [login to view URL] file contains all of our items in tab delimited format. We need for you to build into the admin portion of the application, a method of importing this csv file and creating a database that includes each item's title, description, and image url to be displayed on the item description page. Since we will have moved the image location of the items, the import should anticipate their new location within the database. The .csv file I am sending is should be used merely as a guide for you to see what to expect. I will send you a new one a we need to go through and clean it up so that there aren't any duplicates and that we choose the best example of those duplicated items. The front end. This section is the portion of the application that anyone can access, even if not logged in, and browse through thousands of images. It should be formatted in a similar fashion of "mycollection" where you have a left hand navigation, which includes brand categories for searching a sign in, logout, sign up link, (no user image)---this would integrate with mycollection signin where it recognizes if they're already signed in in mycollection and uses the same login and create user page--- This main display section should include a header message or category or search result title. Next to it should have a top search function that searches the item's title, description, and brand, and the main body section where the bag's thumbnails are displayed. The only addition here is that the titles should also be displayed under each image. The default main front page of this application should randomly display 4 rows of 4 images pulled from the database. Any search result or category search should display 6 rows sorted alphabetically and should use the "pages" fuction that enables clicking on the next page. Clicking on a thumbnail will open up an item detail page that displays an already fully enlarged image the title, and description. For signed in mycollection users, this should also include a rate and comment the bag and "add to myCollection" function that imports the data to their collection. If not signed in a prompt that let's people know they can "login to rate, comment or add to mycollection" The back end. We need an admin section to manage all of this. I'm not sure if you think it would be better to add this function to the current admin section in mycollection or if we need to create a new one. That would be up to you to decide which would be better and easier. Besides the basic normal manual editing function capabilities, this should be pretty straight forward... Just include each item's information that should be searchable, filterable, and editable. The only extra function I need is for the ability to bulk import new items into the database. We sell thousands of items each year, most are duplicates that we wouldn't import, but a lot are still new items that should be included in the database. We should be able to both manually or individually add an item to the database, or every 6 months or so be able to bulk import a large number of items using a new csv file with new items. I'm sure there are some small unforeseen minor details that I can't think of right now, but that is the main idea behind the project. I hope it sounds like something that you would be interested in doing and won't be too challenging for you. Let me know if you need further clarification about any of these topics. Also get back to me on what you think is a fair price. thanks as always. Jesse
