I would like a way to add a particular field on the spot in opportunities rather than creating them in the page layout. Scenerio...Each one of our products has a unique serial number. We have a text field in opportunity called "Serial Number." We use it to track the serial numbers for each item in the opportunity for the customer. Some customers order multiple products within one opportunity. Which means there are a few serial numbers to record. Because this varies, I don't want to create a set amount of "Serial Number" fields in page layout because they all won't be used all the time. I'd like it so we can just click "add" (while in the opportunity) and it will create a clone of the field right below it. I need this done immediately. Thanks

Hello, Not sure if the reason nobody has bid is because it's a summer Friday or IMHO this is not a quick fix, this would likely be a custom visualforce page. I am intrigued, so that is why I am writing. What I am confused by is why you are using custom fields for your serial numbers on opportunity products. If I understand your problem, it seems like that you need to develop a quote with one or more line items on the quote (depends on the customer). If you already have products and price books loaded in your system (and it appears you do); you should enable quotes as a related list on your opportunity page and then you can start a new quote, which would allow you to add as few or as many line items to that quote and the total gets synced with your opportunity total. You would then be able to download a PDF of the quote to your client and also e-mail from right inside salesforce. I think that this feature is new in either Spring 13 or Summer 13, so it's there, but it is definitely functionality that was not there a couple of years ago. I can assist in getting this configured for you if you would like, but it is way more than $30. I have screen shots of what I am talking about, but I cannot figure out where I can upload a document (or maybe I don't have the right type of account - I am just getting restarted on this platform).
