Digital signage software using VLC player

***Overview

***We have written a simple application in C# in the .NET framework that uses the Windows Media Player engine to play clips.

***Current Software

***1) The software plays files from two folders (hardcoded is fine) in a way that once the software is opened it plays a file from one folder, and then the other, and then the first (it alternates between the two).

2) The software plays the clips in full screen mode and always plays over anything else that may pop up, other windows etc ...

3) The software makes a smooth transition beween clips - there is no flicker (ideally it would fade between the two)

4) The software ignores files that are not genuine media files

***Problems with Current Software

***We're running it on a lowish power machine ([url removed, login to view]) and it uses all processor resources - the clips are jerky.

***Proposed Project

***To write the same software with;

a) VLC player (uses less resources than Media Player)

b) C++ or some other native C so it's not having to chew up resources running the .NET framework also

c) LATER to do improvements and mods (follow on projects)

Can provide more info. But the critical thing for us is who can do this VERY QUICKLY (as in days starting now).
