I am setting up a new business selling Home Theater/ Home Media equipment online and need a complete website built. This will be my first internet business, so the winning bidder needs to have excellent communication skills in order to help me quantify my needs. The site will not look anything like most online retailers, so I need to see several previous designs from interested bidders. I also need help in understanding the benefits/ drawbacks of various Content Management Systems and other technical issues. The overall look and feel is very important because I want to make the site very "women friendly". For design ideas, visit [login to view URL] and sonystyle.com. (soft colors, simple layout, easy navigation) This bid request is only to get feedback, design samples and ballpark estimates from interested bidders, not firm commitments. After reviewing the responses, I will invite a few coders to actually bid on the project. My business will depend on the design of this website, so I will not just be looking at the cheapest bid. I tend to think visually and don't always understand the technical aspects of this project, so please ask me questions that will help you understand what I need. Putting up with my stupid questions and being able to create the site I have in my mind will be a huge selling point. Keep in mind I don't need an actual bid, only general estimates along with any screenshots (or urls) of previous work. Thanks. Shawn btw, considering the business I am getting into, I may reward the winning bidder with some cool digital toys.
## Deliverables
1. At least three samples of previous work. (not flash sites!) 2. Good faith estimate of final project price. (does not commit bidder in any way.) 3. Discription of preferred coding method (i.e. Frontpage, Dreamweaver etc.) and it's benefits. 4. Willingness to answer stupid newbie questions about SEO, Content Management Systems, php vs. asp, CSS, database mangement etc.
## Platform
It doesn't matter to me. This is one of the things that I will ask of interested bidders. I am only looking for a platform that can help my business. I am a firm believer in standing on the shoulders of giants, so if you know of any open source projects that can help me out, let me know!
