Augment FeedWordPress Plugin & Integrate with Theme

I need someone who knows the popular FeedWordPress plugin who can change it to grab content from my xml feeds that it's currently missing (specifically, images from <media:thumbnail url="http://site.com/img.jpg"/> tags) and automatically insert into my theme's custom meta fields with each new published post. There are 2 custom meta fields that need to be auto-populated for every new post: 1. a Thumbnail field. 2. The main image field. Ideally, I would like to grab the image from the xml feed and automatically crop it to 125x125 pixels for the thumbnail, so someone with knowledge of php's gd library who can add this functionality is desired. I think this should be a fairly quick and easy job for somebody who knows WP plugins. Please give me some examples of similar work you've done in the past.
