This job consist of converting the following simple forms currently made in Access into Visual Basic. Not “VB net?? but “VISUAL BASIC??
Linked_List_of_OtherSites
MajorCatLinkNames_Form
MerchantListInputForm
MinorCat4Linknames
Create an input form for the table “AdvertiserSources?? ‘ ************************************************************
Each form should provide a method to move between fields when the user presses enter or Tab and there should be a save and an exit button. The forms as simple as they are should be neatly done and easy to understand and navigate. The forms will become a part of a larger program.
USE ADO and not DAO.
Link to the tables in the mdb by using an ini file that provides the location of the mdb. DO not hard code paths into the program.
Use something like the routine below:
Public Sub ReadIni()
Dim MyDir As String, newfile As Long
Dim ThePath As String, MyPos As Integer, TheValue As String
' now read the file for all the
' now we need to get the code path and name
newfile = FreeFile
MyDir = App_Path() & "\[login to view URL]"
Open MyDir For Input As #newfile
TheValue = ""
Do While Not EOF(newfile)
Input #newfile, TheValue
If InStrText(TheValue, "programdata") > 0 Then
GblDatapath = Trim(Mid(TheValue, InStr(TheValue, "=") + 1))
Else
End If
Loop
Close #newfile
End Sub
Ini info currently on my computer is:
Programdata=C:\Documents and Settings\notebook1\Desktop\[login to view URL]
But you can put the mdb anywhere as long as when I receive your work back I can change the location of the mdb simply by changing the path in the ini file.
