I need a command-line script to create a JIRA issue for a project. The script should be written in Java. How you do it is up to you, but most likely you should set up an httpURLConnection and then call connect and parse a JSON object. The do a put or a post to put the content. You can do all of this using the REST API. A username and password should be a command-line parameter. The fields should be Issue type, summary, description, and environment. If you want to throw in priority as an optional argument, that’s fine – but it should just use the default. Assignee isn’t necessary – it should go to the project lead by default.
