I need a cloudformation and cloud-init script written that creates an EC2 instance running HAProxy. The HAProxy has a special configuration.
The EC2 machine created must be based on [login to view URL]'s AMIs and the initialization of the machine must be done using a cloudformation file and a cloud-init script (supplementary bash scripts are acceptable, if minimal).
HAProxy must be installed on the machine and configured as follows:
1) Passed into the cloudformation script will be the names of N amazon AWS ScaleGroups along with a port # that represents each scale group (see below).
2) Each scale group represents a bank of web servers that are to be proxied by HAProxy. HAProxy will listen on a specific local port and forward traffic to the target scale group on port 80. Round robin load balancing among the target machines is sufficient.
3) Each scale group is represented on localhost of HAProxy with a unique port. For example, scale group "a" might be localhost:9000 and scale group "b" might be localhost:9001
4) Each machine in every scale group must be monitored by HAproxy using a health check URL passed into the cloudformation init file.
A cron job must also be setup which dynamically re-polls the scale groups and reconfigures HAProxy. Periodicity of the cron job must be configurable.
