chat sound problem on windows 7 64 bit & firefox 64 bit

When someone send me a message on freelancer, I don't get any sound notifications. this problem only happens on my windows 7 64 bit laptop with firefox 64 bit but gmail chat (browser) doesn't have this same problem, so I am not sure what could be wrong, is there anyone else having the same problem ? how to fix it ?
