We have an access program that runs on access 2000, 2003, office xp etc
there is a main client table that has a status field
we need a new button on the reporting form that displays a dropdown box listing the different entries in the status field. We then select one and the system creates a new table called TmpMerge containing the name and address information and status field for all the selected records.
if the table already exists there will be a warning and option overwrite - Yes or No
There will be one further button 'Tag Next n Records' This will ask how many records to tag and will work like this:-
there will be one additional field in the TmpMerge table - TmpTag. This option will
1- check the table exists and tag the first n records so the TmpTag field says 'print' if any records are already tagged as 'print' they will be replaced with 'printed' if the number of records to be tagged exceeds the number of untagged records it will simply tag as many as it can.
The reason is to allow the user to merge the records ino word, 50 or 100 or 199 or whatever at a time - using this method one set of records is set to 'print' the user then uses this field to select the records to be merged - these printed records are then set to printed and another batch set to print
