This project is to develop a chatbot on top of libpurpl that can interface with Yahoo, AIM, or MSN chat clients. Here is info on libpurpl: [login to view URL] When a user of any client adds the chatbot as a friend, the chatbot accepts them with a welcome message and maintains a list of all chatbot buddies. The chatbot will poll an RSS feed URL which contains messages to send to the clients. When a new message is detected in the RSS feed, the chatbot should send that message to each buddy that is currently “available?? (e.g. not away, busy, or offline), subject to the following. The chatbot can run in 2 modes: 1) Notify all available users 2) Notify N users each time ??" in this mode, the chatbot keeps track of which friends it has most recently notified and round-robins through the friend list, notifying N of them each time it gets an update. Administration: The chatbot should: - Maintain (and save) a list of friends that have added the chatbot as a friend Admin web page: - Show the list of chatbot friends, their status, email address and last status change time for each friend and last message sent and time - Allow for configuration of the chatbot settings, and turning the chatbot on/off, sending messages manually to buddies, and manual addition/deletion of buddies Completion of this project includes uploading the chatbot to my Linux server. I will provide SFTP/PUTTY access to the server. Please ask any questions before bidding.
