**What do we have?**
MX31 MGN developer board, with Qtopia 2.2 installed and running
Linux BSP + drivers
Relevant documentations
**What do we want?**
- Use the source code and files provided, if possible upgrade our Qtopia 2.2 to 4.x
- Port the VLC Media Player to run on Qtopia
- help us select Wifi, BT microchip and write the driver to use for Qtopia
- Port other applications to Qtopia
- This entire project can be broken into several stages and we can negotiate your compensation for each stage
- deliverable includes image, source code, other relevant files
**Proposed stages
**At the end of each stages, the developer will deliver the software and provide instructions for us to test on our developer board. We will not provide the board as it is rather expensive, we would prefer someone who already have a MX31 dev board that they can work on.
*What we need now on the DEV board*
1) Upgrade Qtopia to 4.x (optional, we had developer who have worked on it but encountered problems)
2) Port VLC (or equivalent player) with all available codecs to Qtopia and optimize player/codec to play minimal video at D1 resolution
- Freescale have release some MX31 codecs on their site, should be useful to you
3) Configure or port application to allow video recording
4) Write drivers for WiFi and bluetooth and provide relevant software such as web browser
5) Port selected open source applications to Qtopia, e.g. xpdf, helix player
*Later stages you maybe employed in when Production Sample is out*
6) Tweak Qtopia and maybe the GUI (such as language translation installation) and functions to meet our requirements of PMP+PDA
7) Adjust driver and software to allow 2x channel video recording
8) Fix bugs and major issues encountered on the production sample
9) Optimize power consumption, e.g. tune codecs
(Preferred) On completion, developer to stay around to help fix bugs, answer questions, and assist the open source community.
**Compensation for your work?**
Negotiable (preferably <US$500 per item)
## Deliverables
We are more than happy to listen to whatever you want to say or propose in regards to our request.
We can provide the documentations regarding our developer board if you think it is important to your assessment on the viability/cost of this project.
