Looking for an app for android devices for vehicle inventory
take picture of the vin bar code, decode vin to year, make, model, let the user update aditinoal fields manualy susch as, color, key, title, damage, etc
take several pictures of the car it self
Add vin number, make, model, year and all other user input to SQL database
Create a folder on driver /pictures/vin# and add pictures to it.

MAIN WINDOW
A) LOG IN
B) SCAN VIN
C) FIND CAR
D) TAKE PICTURE
A) LOG IN –username, password check user credentials from Comsprt_bobmack_Users table, if log in successful set AEC_Office from Comsprt_bobmack_Users, remember log in.
B) SCAN VIN – turns on the device camera for bar code scanning, scans the bar code, decodes information from vin_dec_table: aYear, Make, Model, etc.
1) If scan successful, search for existing VinID
a) If not existing VinID, create OrderID, decodes bar code from vin_dec_table and updates fields: aYear, Make, Model, opens NEW CAR window for user input for remaining fields see B).
b) If VinID found, change status to received, open NEW CAR window for field editing see, 1A) NEW CAR.
1A) NEW CAR –Fields: VinID (input from scanner), Make, Model, aYear, Color, Damage, New_Used, Keys, Running, Wheels, Airbag, Radio,
2) Include TAKE PICTURE at the bottom of the window see D).
3) If scan unsuccessful ask if user wants to scan again, or manual user input VinID, at least last 8 digits/letters to check if car already exists in the system, if no create NEW CAR see B) if yes go to existing OrderID
C) FIND CAR
1) SCAN VIN – see B)
2) Manual user input: search for VinID, open OrderID for editing and TAKE PICTURE
Note: For Manual user input: search by at least the last 8 digit/letters of the VinID.
If VinID is not found, ask user to “Add new car” by SCAN VIN or NEW CAR
If more than one search result, prompt to select correct car.
D) TAKE PICTURE - turns on camera on the device to take car pictures, and auto-upload to the server using FTP. Creates folder name: VinID on FTP directory. Add option to review pictures before submitting, delete function and re-take function.
1) SCAN VIN – search for VinID, TAKE PICTURES, FTP create folder VinID, upload pictures.
2) Manual search – user input: search for VinID - TAKE PICTURES, FTP create folder VinID, upload pictures.
Note: Need to be able to limit picture size. For Manual user search: search by at least the last 8 digit/letters of the VinID.
If VinID is not found, ask user to “Add new car” by SCAN VIN or NEW CAR
If more than one search result, prompt to select correct car.
MILESTONES
1) SCAN VIN barcode, check for existing VinID, if found update status to received, if no insert into new Order update status to pending. TAKE PICTURE several pictures, create on ftp folder name: VinID, and upload pictures.
