Hi i have really been thinking about your project, and i just dont see how its going to work with the current plan. As the goal is not to replace the card system, but simply to replace the card, from both the hotels perspective and the hotel guests...."what is the point", i think will be the most common type of question. Also unless the door looks already possess the swipe technology for thier cards, then they would need to replace each of their locks also. Another issue i think will be a big problem is the security, placing the information in the persons device gives them not only access to the information it also opens it up to hacking. - Also most hotels use the card to power the room, so will they have to change these also.
I would love to discuss with you further, brainstorm on some ways to overcome these problems.
I would think the best way is to target companies that already swipe without being inserted.
Use expirable tokens for access to specific rooms, tokens expire when the guest does.
Use it mainly for staff and not for customers, staff can from their device, unlock the door, check the guests details, number of active rooms, notes for rooms, direct access to the bill
Actually the more i think about it, the more i see the staff being the source of sale here, as it will make their jobs more efficient, whereas the door lock app wont make any foreseeable changes (from their perspective).
