I need a programmer who can scrape and parse data from Edgar DEF 14A filings whose ULRs can be provided. \r\nFor the moment, I need to scrape only one table (Summary Compensation Table) in each DEF 14A form for about 5000 firms over the period of 2007-2013. \r\nI need to have the data in excel, SAS or STATA files as well as the program source code for scraping the HTML files and constructing the database. \r\n\r\nHere are the two examples:\r\n\r\nPlease go to\r\n[login to view URL]\r\nYou can find Summary Compensation Table in the table of contents (page 58). \r\nThe table shows the compensation variables for each executive. The format of the table might be slightly different across firms, but the database should be constructed in the format of the attached excel file. In the html file, the executive name and principal position are in one cell, which are better to be separated. \r\n\r\nAnother example is \r\n[login to view URL]\r\nIn this case, SUMMARY COMPENSATION TABLE is on page 10. In this filing, there are a few missing variables such as Option Awards. In that case, the column can be indicated as missing (that is, an empty cell). \r\n\r\nThis work should be done as soon as possible (preferably within a week, December 10 Wednesday). There might be additional work for another table in this type of filings after that.
