I have designed educational baby items / linens for export to sweden. i have worked on embroidery designs, patches, direct painting. i always consider safety of babies in designing items for them. the mat should be interactive, colorful, fun, educational but still safe! I have read your project description and approve of the fact that you want to incorporate educational elements in your play mat :-) My mom was a principal at a pre-primary school and I have been taught that learning from an early age is vital. I also really like your idea and think with the right elements it could be a rather helpful asset to moms. Perhaps at a later stage you could make variations of mats, for example one with farm animals only or numbers and letters, tools etc... just a thought! Do you have a specific color scheme in mind? Firstly I would create something that really engages the attention of the baby to make the mat dual purposeful: An educational 'toy' as well as a practical household item. For this project I propose to create a number of suitable elements that will fit in the given size of 100cm x 150cm (approximately 15cm x 15cm each) for £20 in 3 days. Good luck with your project!
