The character would experience so many different aspects of not only the physical details of when, where, and who she meets but the emotional side of such an ordeal: fear, anger, regret, vigor. The emotional turmoil alone is a story in itself. Such a dark setting would provide exceptional growth. First impression is that it's ordinary. As mentioned, revenge is a theme commonly used in storytelling. It's kill the bad guy then everything's over kind of thing. There's a million questions running in my head about how we can move forward. I believe the most important lies in; why did she survive? Proposal: I would like to expand your game story into something that is compelling and unique. Adding layers of the story is one answer. My approach is outlined according to the following milestones; 1) World Design - time period? continent of location? reality or make-believe world? system of governance? is it chaotic? is is anarchic? - This is the setting of your story. It is vital that the backdrop of the game be harmonic with this. Treat it as a character in itself because it will place opportunities and limitations on the characters in the game. 2) Character Design - I would like to help you design your 2 main characters (protagonist and antagonist). Heroine; age? background? birthday? zodiac? strength? weakness? fears? Vampire; age? sex? background? born? created? reason for killing? Choosing the correct strength and weaknesses can help move the story along. However, we cannot give the heroine all the abilities as the start of the game. By defining what characteristics she needs to defeat the "big boss", we can identify the various challenges that she encounters in every chapter of the game story. At the same time, the vampire's origin story can be something to look at. Perhaps in discovering how, when, and why vampires exist in the game world can be a key to defeating them. 3) Chapter outline - After all that is set and done, we can divide the story line into chapters, each with mini-achievements and goals that are needed for the big fight. My approach would depend on the tone & general thrust of your work. But from a game standpoint, I'd start with a minor boss fight (a vamp informant?), leading into the main thrust of the backstory, which would then inform the interrogation of the minor boss. I'd also want to set up twists for later. Proposal: I've been a creative writer for over 10 years, with a number of my short stories having been published in e-magazines. I have applied my creative writing to a number of different forms - novels, short stories, operatic libretti, web comics & plays - and very much enjoy working with other creatives to create new and interesting works. My main forte is developing and writing for well-developed, intricate characters who drive the story along, as well as world-building.
