Just to clarify my understanding:
You have data (plus future extracts) from existing systems which need to be compared.
You would like a report to show:
- New and Lost SPIDs plus their financial values
- The highest financial impacts (both positive and negative).
I have been working for the UK's largest retail banking group for the past decade and have built up a lot of experience with manipulating data and generating reports.
I have recently started up on my own and will use the experience I have gained to complete your project.
I can build the system for you in one of two ways.
Firstly and most accessible, is a web based design, with the data being held in a MySQL database this has an ongoing, but low cost of £5 per month.
It will have the following sections:
- User section to manage user permissions.
- An upload section where you can upload files into the database.
- A reports section, where reports would be available to provide the information you require.
This option has the added benefit that you could work from any location, and would not need to send files to the managers.
The second option would use a Microsoft Access database to hold all of the information.
Data will need to be pasted into tables. The reports are then generated using Microsoft Excel and can be emailed to managers. This doesn't have a monthly cost, but generally takes more time to produce each month.
