Convert three Apple iBooks to text (asciidoctor) and format appropriately.
We have published 3 apple iBooks using iBooks Author ([url removed, login to view]). We now wish to convert these into a web viewable document.
To do this we wish to convert the books into asciidoctor format (more information here: [url removed, login to view])
To do this will require the freelancer:
- Have access to dropbox. We will share with you our folder with the working asciidoctor files.
- To have Apple iBooks on their Mac or iPad. This is so you can view the original formatting of the document. Images will need to be copied which are supplied in a dropbox folder. If you do not have access to Apple iBooks Author (only available on a Mac) we will investigate how we can get the images to you. Note that images will need to be cropped to the same size.
- Install Atom text editor ([url removed, login to view]) and asciidoctor preview extension ([url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view]).
- Using Atom, copy the formatting of the iBook and match it to the asciidoctor format. We have a template file that outlines most of the formatting here [url removed, login to view] A preview of what this looks like can be seen in the attached file.
Embedded videos are all available on youtube under the playlist with the same name (e.g. [url removed, login to view]) - these will need putting into the asciidoctor file.
Gallery images are done slightly differently using an embedded html snippet. This will involve uploading the images to imgur or flickr and using the embed code generated by these.
