Data checking and cleaning -- 2

In this project, you will check the consistence and coherence of response and data entry for a group of variables (10 items) measuring weekly time use of participants collected from a survey. 1. You are given these materials: - A guideline file of specific issues to look for when performing this data check and what to do with them. - An excel file of cases identified as potentially having issues of consistence and coherence mentioned above. This file includes values of time use variables for those participants, all of which have unique ID. There is also additional information to help locate the problematic items, such as the value of an item larger than the cut-off point, or the difference between reported and calculated total hours being too large, etc. - A set of scanned images of the cases as in the excel file. - A batch file to automate the opening of the scanned images. 2. The process of data check - Run the batch file to open a scanned image. - Compare and contrast the scanned image with the corresponding case in the excel file. - Refer to the guideline and perform the appropriate data cleaning if there needs to. - Close the scanned image. The batch file will automatically opens the next image. Repeat the process. - I upload a sample of 23 cases here, in which the first 13 cases are done as example. See if you can do for the rest 10 cases. The full version will have nearly 900 cases.
