OCR of scanned PDF documents (for sergey2511)

To generate OCR text from three original PDF scans. Each part is as follows:
Scan 68 01 [url removed, login to view] : Starting on Page 9 at article "British railways" and ending on page 25 stopping before next article called "Other Railways". It is approximately 16 pages of text.
Scan 68 02 [url removed, login to view]: Starting on Page 46 at article "British railways" and ending on page 63 stopping before next article called "Other Railways". It is approximately 17 pages of text.
Scan 68 03 [url removed, login to view]: Starting on Page 81 at article "Steam Locomotive allocations" and ending on page 102 stopping before next article called "Other Railways". It is approximately 21 pages of text.
Again there is a significant quantity of numbers and technical references that need to be checked against the scan and where errors are generated by the OCR system you use, these must be corrected.
As per my last project, it is NOT important for the final document to be re-formatted in its exact original layout. The important part is that the electronic copy is a very good reproduction the original text - word for word (punctuation included). Particular attention needs to be paid to standard OCR errors such as ensuring that lower case l (L) and capital I (i) are not confused with the digit 1 and the same goes with the letter O and the number 0.
The output will preferably be in MS Word .DOC format using Monaco 12 point type face throughout.
I have supplied the three PDF scanned document from January to March 1968 for you to be able to estimate accurately the time and effort involved. I will send an MS Word document with english style headings for you to put the final output in.
